Na hÉanna Óga visit Páirc an Chrócaigh

Glengormley Gaels Show off their talent at Croke Park.

On Tuesday the 18th August Naomh Éanna u12 hurlers and footballers travelled to Croke to play in this years Annual Croke Park Fun Day hosted by the Ulster Council.

Our very own Big Lottery Lottery Funded ‘Champions 4 Change’ apprentice, Anna McDonnell organised the day which included a bus full of 50 children and young people who thoughly enjoyed the event on the hallowed turf as well as the a fun day at Drogheda Water park. Our u14 hurling panel also went along for the day acting as peer mentors for their younger comrades.

It was a great day, with feedback from parents amazing – showing another example of what a fantastic club we are all involved in. We hope that the memories of playing in Croke live long in the memories of our children.

The footballers won one and drew one vs Aghagallon and St Brigids respectively; with the hurlers winning one and loosing one vs Naomh Gall and Loughgile respectively. From a sporting perspective both teams put in amazing displays, showing that all of the hard work in training is paying off. Participation in this special occasion was perhaps the most important thing for Naomh Éanna. We are delighted that so many young people got the opportunity to play and to visit the stadium where someday they will field in a competitive in the black and amber!!
