Naomh Éanna v Naomh Bríd

09/04/2017

With anticipation Pobal Éanna had been waiting and preparing for the first game of the All County league division two.

The game was set for Sunday 9th April at 3.00PM in Musgrave Park.

On a bright April Sunday afternoon, both teams took to the Musgrave pitch.

The game was preceeded by Naomh Éanna Reserves against Naomh Bríd Reserves, with Na Fir Éanna coming out of a tough contest one point to the good.

A brilliant result in the All County Reserve Division 2 League.

Naomh Éanna started really well, with the platform from mid field and consistent support play from the half back line being a great resource for Na Fir Éanna to open the scoring, high fielding, solid support play, clever passing and clinical finishing was the order of the day.
As the first half progressed, Naomh Éanna used the aerial advantage, the wind and accurate kick passing to assert further pressure to the scoreboard and at half time the teams left the pitch…

With a goal from Philly Curran, Naomh Éanna headed to the changing room nine points to the good.
As the second half started Naomh Bríd used the break to regroup and reassess the Naomh Éanna challenge.

As Naomh Bríd went in search of scores to get the score board moving in their favour, Naomh Éanna where equal to the task and went in search of scores of their own, as the ball moved in towards the forward line and Naomh Bríd goal, Ruairí Scott saw an opportunity and went for goal, the resulting score turned out to be the score of the match.

As the second half progressed, the Naomh Éanna management looked to make some changes to calling home some and giving others an opportunity to push for a starting position.
Naomh Bríd pushed to take the bad look off the score, they registered 1-5 in the second half, while Naomh Éanna registered 1-6 in the second half.
