Dunloy 1.14 @NaomhÉannaCLG 1.19
Naomh Éanna secured a good win last night away to Dunloy. Both teams were unbeaten to-date and expectations were that the game would be tight and that proved to be the case.
Dunloy scored first but Naomh Éanna quickly got into their rhythm and got the score board ticking. On the 18th minute Ruairi Scott scored a goal which extended Naomh Éanna lead to 7 points. This was extended in quick succession by points from Peter Healy and Conan Little and 2 from Odhrán Eastwood.
Dunloy did not lie down and pressure on Naomh Éanna defence resulted in some late scores for the North Antrim gaels just before the break.
At half time the score was 1.14 to 0.9.
What ever was said in the dunloy dressing room at half time, it worked!
Dunloy reorganised and dropped men back into the defence the Naomh Éanna running game was not working. They were finding it difficult to get through the maze of defenders. Dunloy we’re turning over Naomh Éanna and breaking at pace, their forward line began to click into gear and scored some lovely points. With 10 minutes to go dunloy had brought the game back to 3 points. To Naomh Éanna credit they did not panic, they absorbed the pressure and closed the game out to win by 5.
A very good game for the spectator, plenty of scores from both teams and for Naomh Éanna 10 different scorers with 1.16 from play- not bad!
