Croke Park Activity Day Successful Teams and Guidelines 2017

14/04/2017

A chairde gael,

Thank you very much for your application for the U12 Activity Day in Croke Park on Saturday, 22nd of April.  This year we had 13 hurling clubs and 18 football clubs apply for the event.  We try to give as many clubs the opportunity to play as possible but also to be fair on teams who haven’t had as many opportunities as others (those going for the first or second time get first call, then club/teams who have gone fewer times than others, after that, its drawn from a hat).  See the list below of the successful teams.  There will be 12 football and 12 hurling teams, a total of 264 children will be participating in the hour and a half slot we have.

The following teams for football:

  1. All Saints
  2. Dunloy
  3. Creggan
  4. O’Donnells
  5. Rossa
  6. St. Comgalls
  7. St. Ergnatts
  8. St. Gall’s
  9. St. James Aldergrove
  10. St. Marys Rasharkin
  11. St. Paul’s
  12. St. Teresas

And the following hurling teams are:

    1. Clooney Gaels
    2. Gort na Mona
    3. Loch Mor
    4. Naomh Padraig
    5. Rossa
    6. Sarsfields
    7. St. Brigids
    8. St. Endas
    9. St. Ergnatt’s
    10. St. Gall’s
    11. St. John’s
    12. St. Paul’s

The remaining football and hurling teams are on standby and will be drawn from a hat if any of the above teams drop out.

Please could each team please confirm they are able to attend by 5pm on Monday, 17th of April and send me the completed registration form attached.  Remember it is a maximum of 11 players and 2 mentors.  If teams are seen to have more than 11 players they will be asked to leave the pitch/blitz.  We are already at capacity for this blitz and we want everyone to have a positive experience.

NB: Croke Park requires each player to have an “Activity Day Consent Form” completed for each child attending the Croke Park Activity Days.  I have attached a form for your convenience.  All completed forms should be brought to the activity day, where they will be checked on arrival at the stadium.

Please also see attached a detailed list of guidelines.  They have been a few changes from the previous years so please familiarize yourself with these.

Once all teams have confirmed and sent their registration form I will send fixtures for the day.  If you do not confirm I assume you are not going and will give your slot to the other teams.

To order buses, everyone needs to be in Croke Park for 10.45am sharp for registration.  Please allow time to park the bus etc.  Our time slot is 11.15am to 12.45pm on the pitch.  Croke Park usually cater for each club (11 players plus 2 mentors) a tour of the museum.

Kind regards,

Ciara.
