​AntrimGAA Div3/4 – NAOMH ÉANNA v Rasharkin 


Tonight saw Brendan Tolman take charge of the Division 3/4 match between Naomh Éanna and Rasharkin. 

The game was played in beautiful conditions at the picturesque thriving Gaelic community in Hightown. 
Naomh Éanna opened the scoring with a well taken point from inside forward John McGoldrick and for the period of the first half both teams traded scores, with a elegantly taken 65′ the bring the score to 0.04 to 0.02, again it was point for point until Darragh Cooper stepped in from the school side of the pitch to take a lovely score making it 0.05 to 0.03 to the home side, another score each with a first from Cormac Jennings who began to command the midfield area brought it to 0.06 to 0.04, Naomh Éanna again pushed their advantage with a number of well taken frees from John McGoldrick and Rasharkin added a number of scores including, converting frees and for the first time in the game took over the lead, when the referee blew his whistle, both teams headed to the changing rooms with Rasharkin leading

Within seconds of the restart Naomh Éanna where back on level terms, showing a determination to take the game to Rasharkin. 

Naomh Éanna raced to a two point lead, but Rasharkin where equal to the challenge, keeping in touch with and even went in search of a killer goal which they got bringing the score in the first quarter of the second half to 0.15 to 1.12 to Rasharkin, however Naomh Éanna was equal to the task by driving the scoreboard; 0.17 to 1.12, with strong tackling and tough defending being the order of the day, the game leveled again, heading into the final quarter of the match, with a good build up from play and continuous pressure from Naomh Éanna, a mistake in the Rasharkin defense give Cormac Jennings a chance and he made no mistake, leaving a goal between the teams, Naomh Éanna added additional points stretching the lead to 1.21 (24) to 1.16 (19), with direct hurling from Rasharkin a goal was the reward, leaving two between the teams, 1.22 to 2.16, trading points until the end the match finished.
